Night 1
We arrived late and went directly to Roy’s in Orlando for some Hawaiian Fusion food.  It was EXCELLENT.  They turn any fish dish into a tofu dish.   For some reason I thought the Mai Tai was wicked sweet but that might be after a few hours of flying.

Day 2
We had breakfast at Kouzzina.  I had the Sweet Potato Hash with Two Eggs and Arugula Salad and it was FANTASTIC.  Then it was time to go into EPCOT.  We did the basics:

  • The Land
  • Captain Eo
  • Base 21
  • Spaceship Earth

Lunchtime!  We checked out the new dining in Italy – Via Napoli where I tried the mushroom pizza.   The place is casual enough to relax and but I thought the pizza was just average.  I would love to go back and try their desserts.  While my parents went off to use their fastpass for Soarin we had some wine/beer from Germany and then purchased some vintage style EPCOT t shirts.   Then we hit up the GM Test Track VIP space and rode the ride.  Then we went back to the Boardwalk Villas for a nap.

After a nap – it was time for Mexico!

  • Hibiscus margarita at La Cantina De San Angel
  • Empanadas de queso at La Hacienda de San Angel where we could see a partial view of Illuminations.

Since the park was open till Midnight we spent some time walking around the Mitsukoshi Department Store in Japan.  Then we went to the Rose & Crown for a drink and sat outside.

Day 3
We got in the tail end of the early magic hour and walked on the Tower of Terror.   We then went to the Starring Rolls Cafe for cupcakes.  This was a huge mistake because we went to Biergarten for lunch.  I was not even able to get through 2 plates of food.  After lunch we took the monorail over to the Contemporary.   This is where the magic happened.

We were upgraded to a 2 Bedroom Magic Kingdom Suite – Club Level.  The video speaks for itself but needless to say we didn’t leave the room and we ordered room service and spent the entire night on the on the patio watching Wishes and the views of the changing lights on the castle.

We did take a ride on the monorail over to the Polynesian to the Tambu Lounge for a Mai Tai to go.

Day 4
It was depressing to leave the epic room but it had to be done.  We started out with Tonga Toast at Kona Cafe then went off to the Magic Kingdom. EVERYTHING was a walk-on since it was before 9am.

  • Peter Pan
  • Haunted Mansion – they are working on an interactive queue but it was closed.  They are also working on new hitchhiking ghosts.
  • Thunder Mountain
  • Splash Mountain – this new lap bar was NOT a big deal.  Its padded and I thought it was nice to lean on.
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Jungle Cruise

On the way out we stopped I stopped for a peanut butter cup on Main Street then we walked back to the Contemporary.

We headed over to the Jambo house where we had lunch at their counter service restaurant Mara.  The flat bread wasn’t bad – I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.  After waiting around for a few hours it was clear that we weren’t getting our room anytime before 4pm so we went to the Animal Kingdom park.

We walked in just as the parade was starting so the Safari was a walk on.   Next we spent time with Lilly and the other gorillas – my favorite part of the park.  Thanks to the Disney Food Blog Book we figured out that we could get an Ice Cream Sandwich from Dino Bites.

By the time we got back we were finally able to check in to our savanna view room.  We went to dinner at Jiko’s then relaxed till about 10:30p then went into Magic Kingdom for extra magic hours.

  • Carousel of Progress
  • Wedway People Mover (had some technical difficulties)
  • Buzz Lightyear
  • Mickey’s Philharmagic

Even though it was 1am – I still had an ice cream cone.
